Open source · grant fraud prevention

We built it. Now we’re giving it back.

ReasonBook is a neutral, verifiable baseline for grant fraud prevention that any agency, auditor, or developer can inspect, run, and improve. Built at DataVisuals for government, now open source.

ReasonBook oversight view — an oversight cycle with a tamper-evident log of events, findings against OIG and GAO citations, and export controls. Illustrative sample data.

What it is

ReasonBook governs the award decision before the money moves. Every grant and entitlement decision gets a named owner, a structured rationale, and the evidence it rests on — captured before disbursement and preserved for the next IG or GAO review. Risk signals like duplicate identities and excluded parties are raised for an owned decision; honest applicants never feel it.

Who it’s for

Government and public-sector teams: program-integrity offices, grant administrators, certifying officers, inspectors general, and the technologists who support them.

Why open source

When the screening rules are public, anyone can read the code and confirm it’s fair, accurate, and lawful. A problem this big deserves a solution the public can verify.
